BEM NETWORK OBJECTIVES
- To promote any charitable purposes for the benefit of Black
and Racial minority communities, children and families in Merseyside,
and in particular the promotion of racial equality, the advancement of
education and the protection of health with the object of improving the
lives of said inhabitants
- To promote and organise co-operation in the
achievement of the above purposes and to that end to bring together in
council (‘the BEM
Network’)
representatives of voluntary organisations and statutory authorities
within area of benefit;
- Provided that in carrying out these charitable
purposes, the charity will seek to challenge all forms of oppression
and inequality and to give priority to working with people whose full
participation in society is limited by economic, political and social
disadvantage.
These are the objectives adopted by the Network in July
and remain unchanged. It is proposed that the charitable status (with
the above objectives) is applied for
